Top 5 Social Media Trends To Watch.

We live in such a fast-paced world. and it’s getting faster every year. Our minds are always thinking of what’s next and how can we get it faster. Trends are just the same.
We see it all the time with makeup, clothing, music, and it all comes from influence. We hear our favorite celebrity say “I hate country music” and suddenly what was once our favorite song has moved to the bottom of the playlist.

When it comes to social media, it seems like the second you jump on a trend, it’s already over. So what should you expect to see when it comes to social media trends?

  1. We’re getting even more unfiltered.
The people we follow are becoming more unfiltered than ever before. In a world with so many standards to meet, we feel so much pressure to look, act or be a certain way. Celebrities and influencers are creating more relatable content and sharing their more vulnerable moments. They are unedited, unfiltered, and relatable… and we are following their lead.
  2. Feed coordination is a thing of the past.
Piggy-backing on the subject of being unfiltered, Instagram feeds are becoming less and less coordinated and we have found that accounts with high follower counts and high engagement are posting what feels authentic to their personality. Feeds are beginning to feel more genuine and this authenticity is a major key when building and keeping a loyal following.
  3. Carousels are more popular than ever.
If you’re an avid Instagram user, we’re sure you’ve seen the latest “Photo Dump” carousels posted all over Instagram. Rather than posting that one perfect shot, people are uploading multiple highlights. Think of it as a virtual photo album.
  4. Short, sweet, and to the point.
If you’re anything like the average American, your attention span lasts around 7 seconds. IG users and the algorithms have noticed and reels are getting shorter! A short, to-the-point Reel is all you need – focus on what’s going to grab someone’s attention and move them to act quickly!
  5. Share it to stories.
I don’t know about you but, most of the time when we open up Instagram, we’re not just scrolling the news feed. We spend a lot of time clicking through stories to see what our favorite accounts are up to. The vlog format of stories and real-time sharing hooks us and gives us a behind-the-scenes look into an account –  allowing us to feel a more personal connection to brands, creators, and influencers. We anticipate seeing much more activity on stories as we move into 2022.

These are some trends we’ve been tracking on social media. We believe they will be more popular as we move into 2022, especially the unfiltered, relatable content which is attracting social audiences. What do you think we’ll be seeing more of?
